Modern Mindfulness w/ Dan Petrie

Every Monday – 6:30-7:30pm PT

Join our online community every Monday night for a partially guided evidence-based mindfulness meditation followed by optional Q&A. Sessions are designed for both beginners and advanced practitioners. Our aim is support one another in community, while developing a very strong mindfulness practice that will be useful in myriad areas in life. You’ll be introduced to a variety of evidence-based methods designed to mitigate stress and anxiety, improve sleep, increase empathy and compassion, and promote overall well-being.

Saturday Morning Meditation w/Jill Kranitz

Every Saturday –
8-8:30am PT

This online class is appropriate for all levels, even if you’re just curious and want to try it out my live mindfulness classes. Everyone is welcome – beginners to experienced meditators. Jill will guide you through the 30 minute, secular meditation which includes intermittent pauses to deepen awareness. Q&A available at the end of each session.

Rainbow Mind w/Adam Moskowitz

Every Tuesday – 7:30-8:15pm PT

Rainbow Mind is a weekly online connecting people through meditation. Join us in a sitting or lying down position for a 30-minute period of guided meditation. We will deepen our connection to mindful awareness, and explore ways to apply the teachings of mindfulness to all moments in life. Each session includes a brief talk, and/or group reflection. All are welcome and no experience is required. Please join us this and any Tuesday night. Attendance is free. You may donate if you wish.

Insight Richmond w/Mary Davis & Kevin Martin

Every Wednesday – 6:30-8:00pm PT

Join us every Wednesday evening for a guided meditation, a wisdom talk and a chance to discuss and connect with our community. Suitable for beginners and experienced meditators. While the practices and teachings are in the Buddhist tradition, all faiths or lack of faith is welcomed. Each evening is is led by an experienced teacher from the Insight Meditation (Vipassana) tradition. While our original group met in Richmond, CA, since the pandemic we meet virtually and anyone from any location is encouraged to join.

Midweek Mindfulness w/Karissa Sellman

Every Wednesday – 12:30-1pm PT

Would you like to reduce stress and increase resilience? Could you benefit from a simple, restful pause? Are you curious about mindfulness?


We begin these online sessions with ~10 minutes of guided meditation, then enter silence together, and close with optional Q&A. Find out how this practice can support well-being and bring a little ease to your day. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged.

Dan Petrie

Dan received his mindfulness certification through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. Dan has studied extensively in the Vipassana and Zen traditions under world renowned teachers such as Howard Cohn and Abbot Charles Tenshin Roshi. Read More

Karissa Sellman

Since 2017, she has been offering instruction in mindfulness practices and currently leads private workshops, facilitates public drop-in groups, and offers meditation mentoring sessions to individuals who want additional support with their practice. Read More

Adam Moskowitz

Adam has been an educator for over a decade. He is an MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress-Reduction) teacher and has trained extensively with the Center For Mindfulness at the UMASS Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jill Kranitz
Jill leads her mindfulness teachings from a compassionate presence. She offers a holistic approach and knows there are many paths to finding inner peace, contentment and well-being. She holds a mindfulness training certificate from UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center and continues to study with Deborah Eden Tull.

Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin, MA, has practiced in the Insight Meditation tradition for over a decade. He is currently a student in the Dharmacharya Lay Ordination program guided by Ven. Pannidipa Bhikku. His socially engaged practice centers on uprooting patriarchal systems in dharma communities. In 2016, Kevin completed Practice in Transformative Action program. He serves as a Community Teacher at Insight Richmond and a Visiting Teacher of the East Bay Meditation Center.

Mary Davis

Mary fell in love with meditation in 1997 and has practiced and studied in Tibetan traditions before coming to Insight Meditation (Vipassana) in 2009. Mary is one of three co-leaders of Insight Richmond, weekly sangha in her hometown of Richmond, CA. In addition, she graduated from Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leader program in 2017, and has taught beginning meditation classes at Mission Dharma. Mary has taken the lead in bringing mindfulness classes and sitting groups for staff at Kaiser, San Francisco where she works as an administrative manager.
